My name is Mai (Germans usually pronounce my name as Maya when they first see my name, which is why I adopt this lovely name as my nickname :) My nationality is Vietnamese, however English has become my second native language as I was raised bilingually, and what's even more unique about my English is that I have a perfect British-Australian accent. I can also speak German well (about C1 level). Overall I am a very active and incredibly ambitious girl, who can't stand being lazy, instead always try to create challenges and responsibilities for myself. That explains why I decided to move to Germany at the end of 2017, taking all the opportunities, and also risks, to obtain my second degree in an European country in Information Technology - a field that is completely different and thus adds new values to my first Excellent Bachelor degree. But above all I believe I have quite a special empathy, which intensifies my love for children, since for most of the children that I used to babysit in the past, it was like I can see through them. I could understand quite well what bothered them when they cried for example, what their needs were as well as what could make them start to smile. The reason why I can do that so easily with children is because of their pure simple mind. How they view the world from their curious, innocent but sometimes genial, refreshing perspective is what I love the most about taking care of a child. Regarding babysitting experience, I have a little bit more than 1 year experience during the 2 years I have been living here in Germany. My clients were mostly Vietnamese families in Munich, whose parents had to work the whole day or evening shifts and therefore had no time for their kids. All of the children I worked with aged between 6 and 11, and besides one child at a time I also looked after twins simultaneously twice. Since basically I filled the role of their mother when their mother was not there, I cooked for them, gave them a bath, played with them, taught them and above all sang for them. In terms of teaching, instead of teaching a specific subject, I taught them about logical thinking and deduction through funny, tricky quizzes and puzzles or cubes, and also taught language for the children aged 10-11. Regarding singing, I sang together with them, sang lullaby for them, and even combined singing and acting, which often very quickly stimulated curiosity in them and amused them. One child actually developed interest in singing following my singing session with her every time I came to babysit her. In the future, besides all of my ongoing passion and ambition, one sacred journey which I will be making in a few years is to become a mother. To me, being a mother is one of the most sacred, beautiful, yet also the hardest things in the world. Babysitting is therefore preparing me for this biggest and also most beautiful challenge of a woman. Last but not least, about the special offers I can provide the client families' children with: I can teach them singing skill if they show genuine interest in it. In terms of sports, yoga is my expertise as I have been practicing yoga since the age of 12 till now, hence I can instruct them poses ("asana") appropriate for their age. And language is my sure offer, with more than 6 years of experience in teaching English, and recently also German.
